Punjab to upgrade BHUs and RHCs under PHCIP
The Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department is going to upgrade Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centers across Punjab to ensure quality healthcare services at Primary Healthcare facilities in the Province. A special focus on Mother and Child Health will be paid to reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Child Mortality Rate (CMR) owing to inadequate facilities.
PHCIP launches Electronic Medical Record (EMR) App in Phase - 0 districts
In order to safekeep the data of patients at Basic Health Units (BHUs) and Rural Health Centers (RHCs), an Electronic Medical Record (App) has been launched under the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project. The Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) in the project districts have been trained on the EMR App. More than twenty-five thousand patients have been registered through the EMR/CCT App leading to better treatment.
Minister reviews progress on Mother & Child Health Indicators
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid reviewed the progress on Mother and Child Health indicators in a meeting at Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department. The Health Minister said, “The upgradation of the BHUs to 24/7 model is underway as per plan and will be completed before the stipulated deadline. Under this plan, all the BHUS will be upgraded to the 24/7 models to improve our indicators vis-à-vis Mother and Child Health.
The Punjab Human Capital Investment Project (PHCIP) rolls into Phase – I
The Punjab Human Capital Investment Project has rolled into the Phase-I of the project. The Phase-0 of the project was implemented in two districts namely Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur, another five districts (Bhakkar, DG Khan, Mianwali, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur) have been taken up for upgradation under Phase-I.
